Maybe I mentioned this before. We have been wanting to learn to play Canasta. I played it years ago so how to play is buried in the archives of my mind.Â
Â
When our friend Elaine came to visit yesterday the second question I asked her was "do you play Canasta"? Her answer "I have not played it in years."
Â
So I went to my computer and put the word Canasta in the browser and out came all the rules and instructions on how to play the game.
Â
Elaine, Joann and I sat down with the instructions and played one hand. Guess who won? You have heard of beginners luck. Yep Joann won.
Â
Being a poor loser I got Bill to take my place at the table. They are still at it melding all over the place. Now when Ron and Sue come over we will be able to show off what card sharks we are. Â
Â
Yesterday we took Elaine onto the Campus of Brevard College looking for white Squirrels. Becky suggested we keep a stock of seeds or nuts in the car to feed them instead of the bread we had been taking. It worked because the tiniest little squirrel came clear over to the car and we threw seeds to him and he really enjoyed them and begged for more. Â
Â
Another sight we saw that I must tell you about -- at the Pig Farm it was dinner time for the new litter. There was Mama Pig feeding her nine little Piglets. I am sorry to say Joann's camera had a dead battery so we could not get a picture of this show of Motherly love. Â
Â
For a change we had rain today but for about an hour the sun came out and we made a bee line for Peaceful Place. Still no sighting of Humming Birds but there was a Blue Jay and he was good enough to spill some of his food on the ground for the squirrels.
Â
I hope you all saw the All Star game last evening. Our Carl Crawford got a home run.  That was exciting. The Rays play New York tomorrow evening. I sure hope the fans give Carl the honor he deserves for putting us on the map.
Â
Love and prayers from here to there.
